I am an experienced midwife specialising in scar therapy and complementary therapies to support health and wellbeing during pregnancy and the postnatal period.
I began my midwifery training almost twenty years ago and qualified in 2009 with a first class honours degree. Since then, I have continued to develop my knowledge and skills, going on to achieve a Masters degree in clinical research with distinction.
Evidence based practice is extremely important to me, and I believe that high quality research plays a vital role in safe and effective midwifery care. This foundation allows me to combine complementary therapies with clinical understanding, ensuring all care offered is both safe and informed.
Over the past seventeen years, I have worked across all areas of maternity care. This includes community midwifery, antenatal and postnatal wards, labour and delivery ward, and antenatal clinics. I have also held several roles within midwifery management. Working in such a wide range of settings has given me a breadth of experience to draw upon, and I have supported thousands of pregnant women and their families throughout their individual journeys. In addition to my NHS clinical background, I hold further qualifications Caesarean Section scar therapy and I’m currently undergoing pregnancy and postnatal massage and aromatherapy training.
Supporting women through pregnancy and early motherhood has always been at the heart of my work. I believe in combining professional midwifery care with the careful and safe use of complementary therapies to support wellbeing and encourage positive experiences during this unique stage of life.
Pregnancy can bring moments of joy alongside physical and emotional challenges, and it is natural to need additional care and reassurance at times. Making space for rest and self care during pregnancy is an important part of looking after both body and mind.
My approach is centred on providing personalised, professional care, whether that is easing pregnancy related discomforts or simply offering time to relax and feel cared for. I aim to create a calm and welcoming environment where women feel listened to, supported and at ease, while offering informed choices that help build confidence throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
